Whispers Between the Stacks

SCENE 1

Secret Glances in the Library

Dimly-lit library aisle lined with aging classics — Elise and Lia stand inches apart amid towering bookshelves, hands almost touching, sunlight casting shafts of light between dust motes.

SCENE 2

A Warning from a Friend

Faculty lounge, cozy with books and mismatched chairs — Professor Khalid pours tea for Elise, her voice gentle, eyes kind but serious, steam curling in the late afternoon sun.

SCENE 3

The Dean’s Suspicion

Stark, imposing office with heavy mahogany desk — Dean Harmon sits behind his desk, peering over files at Elise, his face inscrutable, afternoon shadows creeping across the nameplate.

SCENE 4

Midnight Confessions

Lia’s dorm room window, soft rain on glass, lamplight spilling across messy notepads — Lia leans her forehead to the window, eyes closed, Elise sits nearby, hand gently reaching out, both faces etched with longing.

SCENE 5

Caught in the Hallway

Long, empty hallway between lecture rooms, fluorescent lights flickering slightly — Elise and Lia, mid-embrace, freeze as Dean Harmon appears at the end of the corridor, his silhouette rigid and looming.
