Moonlight Across the Divide

SCENE 1

A Chance Encounter

Moonlit pier at the edge of the sleeping village — Sofia leans over the railing, watching her reflection in the gentle water as Eli steps up beside her, both faces illuminated by the moon.

SCENE 2

Warning in the Mist

Foggy cobbled street between darkened homes — Madame Verneau stands in a cloak under a streetlamp’s glow, her finger raised in stern warning as Sofia hurries past, glancing back with fear.

SCENE 3

Confiding in Sanctuary

Cozy candlelit church interior — Father Luc listens kindly as Sofia, hands clasped tightly, confides her heart’s turmoil in the quiet pews, light flickering on stained glass.

SCENE 4

Midnight Meeting

Secluded rocky cove beneath towering cliffs — Eli and Sofia clutch hands behind a boulder, holding each other's gaze with fierce resolve as the wind tosses Sofia’s shawl.

SCENE 5

The Divide Remains

Village square at dawn, empty except for Sofia facing Madame Verneau at a distance — Sofia stands defiantly, hands balled at her sides, across from the steely-eyed Madame Verneau as rays of sunlight cut between them and the square basks in golden morning light.
