SCENE 1

The Night Intruder

Veronica Hale’s bedroom, midnight, moonlit with deep shadows — A woman in her late 30s, Veronica Hale, sleeps restlessly on a bed; in the background, a doorway is barely ajar letting a shaft of pale light in; the room feels tense, the outlines crisp but muted.

The Figure Vanishes

Veronica Hale’s bedroom, moments later, midnight, moonlight slightly dimmer — The shadowy figure is gone; Veronica Hale slowly sits up, heart pounding, her fearful reflection the only thing in the mirror now.

SCENE 6

Unearthing the Clue

Courtroom, later that morning, tension thick in the air — Veronica Hale examines an enlarged printout of the bedroom mirror; her finger pauses on a faint outline resembling the shadowy figure, face determined.

SCENE 7

Antagonist’s Next Move

Courtroom hallway, noon, fluorescent lighting stark — A man in his early 40s, Lyle Mencken, stands with his back to the camera, speaking quietly on his phone, face half-hidden in shadow, plotting his response.
