Doug and the Forest Rescue

SCENE 1

Landslide Alarm

Edge of a lush New Zealand forest, early morning after rain — Doug stands in front of a muddy landslide blocking animal burrows, headlight eyes wide with concern, as forest creatures look on anxiously in soft golden light.

SCENE 2

Stella's Sly Plan

Shadowy undergrowth, with tangled roots and moss-covered stones — Stella crouches low, half-hidden behind tall ferns, mischievous eyes narrowed; she clutches a stick, ready to jam Doug's tracks.

SCENE 3

Wise Words from Tane

Branch high above, sunlight filtering through leaves — Tane perches gracefully, wings outstretched and feathers iridescent, looking kindly but seriously down at Doug, who glances up through the canopy.

SCENE 4

Kiwi Cries Below

Dark, cramped burrow under the landslide, lit only by small cracks of daylight — Piki and Ruru huddle together, eyes wide and worried, small beaks pressed to earth as they listen for help.

SCENE 5

Doug Digs In

Base of landslide, muddy earth with roots and small stones, mid-morning glow — Doug lowers his scoop, face determined, mud flying as he scoops earth while other animals cheer quietly in the background.
